For a few years now, I've been dreaming of and planning for the day I would begin my practice. Names and ideas flooded in like rushing and perpetuating flood waters. Every idea was good. Every name usable. But, what I kept going back to was just simple:
Life. How it begins and how it goes. And grows. And exquisitely unfolds.
So, when it came to settling on our name, of all the possibilities that came to mind, none captured my heart for honoring the wonder of new life, or the becoming of a new mother, quite like the flower.
That sweet baby bud is in the grand process. And that mama, too. And even me - as a midwife... We are all in our own season. Newly budding. Full bloom. Or even, in the giving of one blossom to allow for the new.
I take pause, in awe at the thought of it.
Like the most delicate of flowers, LIFE - in all it's humility and fragility - is all at once strong and great, too.
...and in all that, it simply:
